NHS Choices have some excellent information on assistance they can provide. Some of the information they give links with Hampshire County Council Services: to go straight to their advice page on funding

CQC regulate health and adult social care services in England, whether they're provided by the NHS, local authorities, private companies or voluntary organisations. Also, they protect the rights of people detained under the Mental Health Act.

Money matters

Since 1991 nhfa have helped thousand of families cope with long-term care problems.

"We provide advice to individuals who have little or no capital on issues such as rights to care services, local authority charging procedures, obtaining Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) benefits or meeting fees. We also produce an extensive range of fact sheets providing individuals and those advising others with the information they need to obtain what they may be rightfully entitled to".

The support you or a loved one needs can sometimes cost more than you can afford. However, there are many organisations that can advise on funding. We suggest that you begin by speaking with the County Council Social or  Adult Services Department

In all cases it is worthwhile having someone, family member, close friend or advisor with you when you start to engage with those that may be offering you financial support. If you don't have someone living close or do not have someone you can trust you can ask Social Services to provide an "Advocate" which in most cases is a FREE service.

The main point when it comes to both the Care and the Funding you need is that it can sometimes be confusing and sadly, there are some people who will try and take advanatge of you for their own gain.
