Below we have listed some background of the people who work with us to support our Clients in their own homes.

You will notice that our Carers are the top of our list!

CARERS

We try to select Carers not just on their formal and work experience but also for their people skills and the ability to empathise with our Clients.

In all cases, they will go through an initial basic training programme before being allowed to visit our Clients' homes under supervision, all of which is actively monitored by Lillyfields' Management.

All our Carers will review their development objectives and progress every 3 months with Lillyfields Management. This helps to ensure that our Staff are developing their care skills and also has motivational benefits.

CARE STANDARDS MANAGER

Jane Morris, Care Standards Manager: Jane has 13 years experience in care, has worked in care homes and domiciliary care, and has achieved her NVQ 2 and 3 in social care,

Jane is responsible for maintaining standards of care in the field, supervision and monitoring of carer staff, assisting with staff appraisals and liaising with management.

CARE LIAISON MANAGER

Sarah is our Care Liaison Manager who works with our Clients and the Lillyfields team to ensure the Care and Support that is expected is being delivered. She also works with Clients on a frequent basis to ensure that their changing needs are co-ordinated and provided.

Sarah, although young, has a number of years experience in providing Care and with it a fantastic ability to make each of our Clients feel that their views and feelings really do count

REGISTERED MANAGER

Diane Jones

Diane Jones RMN has over 24 Years experience in Nursing and Caring for others. Trained at Whitecroft Mental Health Hospital on the Isle of Wight, Diane has worked with a number of Care Homes, ESMI Units (Elderly Severely Mentally ill) and in private home care, in addition to bringing up a family of four children.

Although Diane has technical and management skills, it is her acute understanding and empathy to people’s emotional and social needs that motivates her to give the best possible care and support.

The name Lillyfields is significant to Diane in that it is based on her own mother's name: Lilian, who Diane helped nurse at home throughout her terminal illness.

RECRUITMENT

All our Staff go through a rigorous selection process in 6 key steps:

                 Initial telephone screening

                 Detailed application

                 Structured interview

Security checks (Criminal Records Bureau and Protection of Vulnerable Adults checks)

TRAINING

By the end of their 6-month probationary period, all Carers will have an agreed development plan which Lillyfields actively supports through at work and off-site training. We encourage all our Carers to commit to achieving NVQ 2 in Care by Year 2.

In addition to formal qualifications, we update and train our staff on a regular basis in areas such as Health & Safety, Moving & Handling, Food Hygiene, elements of the Mental Capacity Act etc.
